Something extraordinary came to Dad Miller Golf Course — and it wasn’t just a trophy. It was a moment.
As part of the US Women’s Open Trophy Tour, the USGA brought the iconic championship trophy to our course for a special golf clinic hosted by First Tee – Orange County. The event was led by our Girls on Greens teen girls class, whose members stepped up as clinic instructors, mentors, and living proof that this sport belongs to them.
The clinic was open to all — whether you’ve swung a club a hundred times or never stepped foot on a fairway. New participants and familiar faces came together on the same grass, reached for the same goals, and shared the same unforgettable afternoon. From grip fundamentals to full swings, our Girls on Greens teens guided every participant with encouragement, patience, and contagious enthusiasm.
The US Women’s Open Trophy stood on display throughout the day, a gleaming reminder of where dedication to the game can lead. Participants of all ages had the chance to get up close, take a photo, and feel the weight — literally and figuratively — of one of golf’s most prestigious prizes.
Days like this are what First Tee is all about: building confidence, community, and a love for the game that lasts a lifetime. We’re grateful to the USGA for choosing Dad Miller Golf Course as a stop on the Trophy Tour, and even more grateful to every girl and participant who showed up, teed it up, and made this day shine.
Interested in joining an upcoming clinic or class? We welcome new participants at every level. Come as you are — the game is waiting for you.
